To answer your question, Eric, I'm don't show affection save through generosity (ask nikolai, that money-grubbing rat-bastard!) and when I am an "asshole" online, it's because I really do think your opinions are wrong and invalid. I'm just trying to get you and these fags to see the light.
That being said, the distinction between you and every other asshole on the internet is that I also talk to you when I'm sober, and invite you over for the doobie snacks. You should be honored.

If you dont argue with your friends, especially when you know they're wrong, then you're hardly friends at all. Plus, why would you want your friends to protray average normal behavior, especially eli, who's entire character is based around outrageousness? And in terms of affection, men don't show out-right affection. If they do, they're probably drunk, or... well that's about it. On a regular basis, men won't share their "feelings" with most of their friends, and find solace in one of them if at all. Don't expect affection from most of your male friends, and their general behavior towards you whether it be indifference, anger, or what have you, is just the way men usually act.
